Our True Company Story

Case Study 1:

MARAKASH has been working with the Rancon British Motors Limited for four years which is the sole distributor of MG cars in Bangladesh. They are importing MG-ZS, MG-HS and MG3 cars. Their exporter is SAIC International which is one of the largest car manufacturers in China. In the year 2020 Rancon had brought more than 150 units of cars to Bangladesh in one shipment. Before bringing the cars to the Bangladesh Customs house Chittagong has decided a value for assessment of every new car which were imported except Japan and Europe. The value set by the customs house was shared with the National Board of Revenue also. MG-HS and MG3 values were also set by the customs house. When the cars arrived in Bangladesh, we submitted the original document for assessment purposes after the completion of Examine. As per customs law 2000 if the import is being done directly from the manufacturer than Importer can submit the manufacturer price certificate for the authentication of the value declaration. Rancon did the same but Customs house did not agree to assess the product declared on the price certificate; rather they wanted to assess the product based on the findings in the MRP and then applying the deductive method on that. After several discussions with the customs house and done twice the market survey to check the MRP customs house was adamant on their decision. Importer was not willing to accept the price. So we asked the customs house to arrange an assessment committee meeting. At that meeting we were able to convince them that the importer should get BDT 60,000.00 as value addition in every car which gave a huge duty advantage to the importer. This was a remarkable job done by us in the history of the customs house because after setting the value and sharing it with the NBR, customs house agreed to consider the value edition of the importer based on our argument. Our commitment towards our customer was proven by our work.
